Again I used paper from the 29th Street Market line. The yellow, the dot and I also used it to make the medallion. Even the brown strip is the cut away strip from the botton of the paper.

Happy day everyone! I love cutting up border stickers and using them on cards and LO's. They are so versitile. I cut the leaves from a KandCompany border and also the X's. The little birds are also from KandCompany. You might recognise the black paper as Cosmo Cricket from awhile ago.

I'd been wanting to create some cards using dark grey and yellow but the inspiration just wasn't there. Finally I came up with something.

For this card I used a frame from SEI which I've had for awhile. The butterflies downloaded from the internet.

Well, here it is October already. Time for my quarterly blog post. : }

This are some Halloween cards I've made. Hope you enjoy them. I know I picked up the designs while blog hopping but don't remember from whose blog. So, thank you to whom ever I borrowed these from. Hope you don't mind.

On this card I used a transparencie frame backed by Pink Paislee Hocus Pocus paper and mounted it on a BG paper with a glitter foam witch from Making Memories. All of these supplies are from last years lines.

Some more Pink Paislee Hocus Pocus paper which I punched a border on and cut a frame on my Silhouette. I added some rhinestones for a little bling and a ribbon strip and chipboard letters.

This one is pretty simple, A spooky tree cut on the Silhouette and a ruffled ribbon.

Time just flies by, doesn't it? My youngest daughter has been living in the Caribbean for over a year now and has taken a bizillion pictures. I thought I would start an album for her but since she has so many pictures I didn't want to really scrap them all. I decided to use a regular photo album so I picked up this lime green one at Walmart. I painted the cover with water color paint and cut up a Webster Pages paper and glued it on. I didn't care for the white pages inside the cover so I sprayed one with Glimmer Mist and covered the other with scrapbook paper from Rusty Pickle. I decorated both with die cuts cut on my Silhouette. Now to get all the pictures printed. I discovered I could download them direct from Facebook to Snapfish which is so easy.

The bright white card didn't photograph very well. The card is bright white with green inside. I printed out a cute image and glued it to a chipboard button and punched a circle in the front of the card so the button would show through.

St. Patricks Day is almost here again. My favorite holiday, not only because I'm Irish but it's one of those holidays where you're not expected to do anything ( like cook or shop). It's a no stress holiday. Slap on something green and you're ready to go.
So in honor of the day I created a couple of cards. Well, really several cards but I mailed them without taking pictures so I had to do a couple more. Duh! I have to thank Danielle Flanders for the inspiration on the tag card. I used a Martha Stewart punch and some old BG paper in back. The other card was created using a Cuttlebug die for the stamps and some sparkly foam shamrocks from Michaels.

Botanical again

I'm really in the botanical/nature mood lately and they are so hot in the scrapbooking community right now so when I spied this cheese board at a garage sale I knew I wanted to do something botanical with it. Off to Michaels I traisped and found some moss and a nest and this cute bird. They had eggs too but I was thinking I had some modeling clay and could make my own. I put it together and I think it turned out ok. What do you think?

Winner!! I was recently a winner of BG's Curio on the MOXIE FAB blog . Yeah! Loving all the fabulous paper. It's so versitile. Of course I couldn't wait and had to do a layout even though I didn't have any pictures to scrap. I used some more of Brenda Walton goodies from KandCo. and a chipboard clock face from Heidi Swapp.

I recently bought some borders and add ons by Brenda Walton for K&Co. at Michaels. I'm loving the nature theme right now. Two of my daughters are having birthdays in Febuary so I made this card for one of them using this theme. I was very pleased with the way it turned out. I mounted some kraft paper on BG's Basic paper then cut one of the borders up and attached that along with some scrunched seam binding and some trim threaded with ribbon.

My oldest daughter will be the big 50 in Feb. Oh no, say it isn't so! For her I made this card using some K&CO demensional stickers.

A couple more cards for next year. I found these dimensional stickers on clearence at Michaels. I went a little out there and played up the black and red colors. Not typical Xmas but hey that's what creating is all about.

I'm backkkkk and so soon too. When I posted last I couldn't figure out how to add more than one picture. Duh. That's what I get for waiting so long between posts.

This card I created using my Silhouette to cut the ornaments. I actually found some paper by Echo Park that has the exact same ornaments printed on it only with bright funky colors. How little it takes to make one happy. LOL

This is a really simple card. I used some really old embossed paper, printed a sentiment on it and added three snowflakes I cut from a Sizzix die using my Cuttlebug.

Ok, don't laugh but I'm already making cards for Christmas 2011. What can I say. I'm retired what else do I have to do? On this one I used this beautiful trim from Webster's Pages and a Sizzix dies for the snowflakes. The sentiment is a rub-on left over from last year.

Thanksgiving is almost here. Where did the year go? This year we had a new great grandchild added to the family, a daughter sailing the Carribbean, a grand daughter graduating from cosmetology school and the rest of us just plugging along. I am thankful we are all in good health.

I sent my Thanksgiving cards out without taking pictures of most of them but did manage to snap a picture of these two. I've been working on Easter cards but figured it's way too early to post those. As usual the supplies came from my stash. The paper I bought awhile ago at Target's dollar spot. I like to use non traditionl colors sometimes.

Today is only supposed to be 106 deg. which is better than the 113 it has been this week. We were at the Colorado River in Parker, AZ last weekend. for a family get together. My great nieces were here all the way from Maryland and my nieces and their families from Riverside, Ca., plus us and our grown children. Lots of fun! We had to look out for water balloons and buckets of water thrown from above. No surfing on the river but I though I would post these summer cards I made awhile ago.

For this little card I used a clipart image from the web of a little boy jumping rope. Too cute! The flower I scanned from Dear Lizzy paper, cut 2 and stacked them with a pop dot. I added some stickles in the center to give it a little bling. I love the colors. So fresh.

Sister birthday card

Bought some Webster's Pages "Bloomers" and Silhouettes and couldn't wait to use them. I have the peach color Bloomers too but decided to use the green on this card since they match the green in the paper.The bird cage paper is BG and the scallops I cut from scrap paper using my Silhouette machine. I sprayed some paper trim with Sweet Clover glimmer mist and placed it under the tag which I also cut on the Silhouette mach. The letters are BG too. Added some velvet leaves and a bloomer on top of a flower I cut out of Dear Lizzy paper and attached the silhouette. I think it's kind of sweet. Hope my sister likes it.

Happy Monday! Of course everyday is Sunday when you are retired. Now don't be jealous. I put in my time. I'm sharing this clean and simple lo done on grey cardstock with assorted size circles cut on my Silhouette. The chipboard letters look kind of yellow in the pic but they are green and the shamrock swirl was also a Silhouette design. I just discovered the Studio Calico blog and all the amazing designers there and this sketch came from there. ( don't remember who, sorry ).

Well I couldn't resist entering another card. This one is more subdued. Kind of shabby chic. Might be pretty for a wedding though.

I used Core'dinations White Washed cardstock and embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder. I reversed the paper and embossed it with another folder for the darker color. I used the same paper for the scalloped edge. A lace bow, some roses and pearls and done.

This is my entry for the Core'dinations DT hosted by Caardvarks. The challenge is to make a new monocramatic card. I used Core'dinations White Washed cardstock for the frame and the butterfly. Both were cut with Silhouette cuts, along with the sentiment. They are mounted on Jack n Jill paper from My Minds Eye. Hope they like it.

Butterfly mini album

I love to create mini albums. There something so satisfiying about finishing a whole album at once. It's almost like making lots of cards and what's more fun than that? For this one I used a chipboard album from Michael's. Cutting out all the paper in that butterfly shape would be a pain in the (well you know) so I drew around the shape onto a piece of printer paper then scanned it and brought it into my Silhouette and cut them all from there. Whew! so much easier. Just make sure your drawn line is neat because the Silhouette cuts them all. I just pulled everything from my stash that had the colors I wanted and used those to embellish.

House of 3 and Silhouette what a great combination. I used two of House of 3's print and cut's, from Silhouette, to make this shabby chic card. Isn't that the sweetest bird cage? I printed two of the flowers and stacked them to give some dimension. The frame is also a Silhouette cut which I stamped with white ink and embossed. Had to add some pearls for a little bling and made a stick pin with some more pearls and a bead. Inked and tore the edges to make it a little more shabby. Oh, I only had white ribbon so I colored it with water color paint or you could use Glimmer Mist but I didn't have any.

This sketch was only one of many great sketches at Moxie Fab World last week. I had a lot of fun with this. In fact I made two cards and here's the first. For this one I stamped an image and then scanned it and reduced the size. I cut it out and attached it with pop dots to raise it up. It needed a little something so I printed the clip art of the bed, cut it out and attached it. A little machine stitching and a scalloped edge and Wah la.!

Long Hot Summer

It's only March and already in the 80's so I was inspired by these papers by Jackie Eckles, appropriately named "On a whimsy", to create this tag for summer. The reflection on the transparency caused me a little trouble when I took the picture but it didn't come out too bad. The flowers I cut from one of the papers and raised with pop dots. The grass I also hand cut.

Hopping around my favorite blogs this morning and came across a beautiful lo of Carole Janson's Here. She does such amazing cut out work. So I lifted this design from her. Hope she doesn't mind.
Used Silhouette designs for the flourish and corner_design flourish. A Prima flower and some silk flowers. I painted a doily for the corner.

Mother's Day card

Inspiration struck this morning and this is the result. It's a little early for Mother's Day but we are having a community wide garage sale coming up. I went through all my supplies and weeded out what I won't use. I did some layouts and I hope to sell those plus all the cards, mini albums and paper crafts I've made. Well, I know I won't sell them all but hopefully some. Besides it's nice just to get out and meet some of my neighbors and enjoy the spring weather.

Supplies used: Cuttlebug embossing folder (reversed) for the green background. Paper doily, Prima flower, Silhouette to cut the tag and my PC to print the verse. For the felt leaves I cut apart a coaster from Michaels.

San Xavier del Bac & Tubac

Spring fever hit so we decided to take a road trip. We drove down south of Tucson to see the San Xavier mission, something I've been wanting to do. It always looked so beautiful in pictures and it didn't dissapoint. They have been doing a lot of restoration but the scaffolding is down now. From there we drove further down to Tubac and strolled through the shops. Long drive but a nice outing.

I think this tray from 7 gypsies is just too stinkin cute. I've seen several posts on Two Peas using it & had to have it. I'm missing a picture of two of my children so hence the blank space, but I'm happy with how it turned out. I attached the pictures with a little double stick tape in case I want to change it in the future.

I made this card for a special birthday. No names please. Although if she sees it she'll know it's for her because the diva has a special meaning to her. Don't know why I'm on this pink and black kick. It took me awhile to catch up with the trend. Oh well!

So I was perusing the Silhouette site for new items and saw this silhouette diecut of three women and just had to have it. Then I got the idea for this layout. Kind of matches the card.

Never too early

My Lilac vine ( Hardenbergia violacea) is blooming. This is one of the vines that we can grow here in the desert. Unfortunately it only blooms once a year but it stays green all year. I have it outside the window of my craft room. That way I have something to look at besides the block wall. Pretty!!! It's given me inspiration to make some cards for Spring and Easter.

Danni from Dannisdoodles is another big inspiration. I love the clean look of her cards. She was the inspiration for this card. The little girl is clip art I found. Isn't she cute?

I saw this really cute album on Jana Eubank's blog and decided to try it. I used whatever supplies I had on hand and this is what I came up with. The tags I made from the leftover file folder and all I had were white reinforcements so I colored them with a Sharpie. I still haven't gotten any twine for the tags yet. Her instructions were so easy to follow why not give it a try?

Finally drove the 45 miles or so to the scrapbook store for some new paper. I know I could order it online but it's just not the same as wandering the aisles and looking at all that yummy paper. One of the papers I bought was Gigi Birds by Glitz Design. It just looked so fresh. I used a Nicole Thomas sketch from the March/April issue of Paper Crafts mag. to make this card.

Yeah, yeah, I know it's not spring yet but for lack of something better to do I started to clean out my scrapbooking/craft supplies. Then I thought "Why not have a garage sale?" I have a bunch of cards and paper craft items made so I thought maybe I could sell those too. Then that put me in the mood to make some scrapbook layouts to sell. Stop already!! Simple Thank You

This is a simple Thank You card using up some S.E.I. epoxy stick ons for the flower centers and the leaves. I used my Silhouette to cut out the flowers from white cardstock. You can't see it very well but the cardstock has a pearlized sheen to it.

Owl birthday card

I said to myself (one of the hazards of getting old, talking to yourself) I wasn't going to make any more cards because I have a bunch/lot/huge amount. But.... I saw these Hero Arts digital Wood Cut Owls and they were so stinking cute what could I do. I've always had a soft spot for owls. Back in the day I even had this wallpaper in my bedroom that was covered in owls. Can you imagine? Wish I had a picture of it now so I could laugh.

I used both sides of October Afternoon paper for the background and printed out that cute little owl and cut him out and wahla! The lettering I cut with my Silhouette using a font I have on my PC.

For this layout I cut a doily in several different sizes with my Silhouette. I used patterned paper and layered them with pop dots for some dimension. Again the pics are kind of blurry. Don't know what happened and am too lazy to take them again. I also cut the Sept. 09 on my Silhouette too.

I guess the few followers I had thought I was never coming back. Me too for awhile. But like a bad penny here I am again.

I wanted to share some projects I've done on my Silhouette die cutting machine. Do you have one? I love it. Just being able to get designs any time night or day is wonderful. This first project is my first attempt at cutting vinyl wall letters. Initially I was having some problems but with the kind help of Suz @ Scrapyland.com (thanks Suz) I'm pleased with the results. What do you think? I did some lettering for my revamped laundry room. The pics are not to good. The phrase is: Four little dirty words. Wash...cook...clean...iron... I wanted to hang my antique irons on the wall by it but they are so dang heavy I don't think the wall will hold them. Can you imagine ironing with those? Not.

It's been forever since I posted. A lot has been going on. I lost my sister and my best friend and gained a new great grandson. He was a premmie and only 2lbs. 11ozs. Doing OK now after an operation to close a hole in his heart but he had some bleeding on the brain so it might cause problems in the future. I guess that's the circle of life but sometimes it's hard. So among all that I managed to add some cards to my Etsy store. Nothing like card making to take your mind off of things for awhile.

That Irish feeling

I found a new blog from Ireland thanks to Marge so I thought I would post some note cards I made with an Irish theme. Another blog I like is: thisirishphotograph.blogspot.com for all you with a wee bit of green in your blood.

For these note cards I stamped a Celtic knot, wet embossed it then cut it out and attached it with a pop dot. The envelopes I cut on my Silhouette using Martha Stewart paper. I attached a shamrock to a clear acetate box that chipboard letters came in and added a ribbon.

I painted it first and then I covered it with "Mimosa" paper from SEI (love those colors) and added some ribbon, trim and silk flowers. I created this trinket or gift box by covering a wooden box with patterned paper. I pulled apaer some Xmas picks and hot glued them to the top. Then I added some fabric trim around the edge, die cut a snowflake and centered it with an epoxy sticker.

Our little town is without a library right now. The old one closed and the new one hasn't opened yet. I'm going broke buying books since I typically read at least one or two a week and since "Lost" isn't on tonight thank goodness for card making. Don't think I would be sane with it.

Here they are. I used basically the same colors but different papers. The first one I used some shaped paper and added a felt flower and some sparkly letters. On the next one I used Prima flowers topped with felt centers and brads. Look for them on Etsy soon.

Another challenge. This challenge is to use stitching, flowers and stars. I'm pretty happy with this card I made using scrap paper from my stash. You can't go wrong with pink and black and a little pop of blue.

The challenge is to create a gift bag/box. Thinking outside the "box/bag", I created a gift "wrap" using craft paper embossed on my Cuttlebug & some silk leaves.

This is my take on Shanna Vineyard's card. I downloaded the cake pattern from here.http://papercraftsmag.com/. I didn't have the glitter foam so I made the frosting from cardstock, trimmed it with stickles and popped it up with pop dots. The sentiment I printed on my computer and added some glitter. The inside sentiment says: "Eat the frosting first". "Hope your birthday is so good you can taste it!"

Cuttlebug "Be inspired" challenge

The Cuttlebug challenge for this week was to use numbers. I had already started this LO with a picture from my grand-daughters 21st birthday, so I decided to enter it. They were all wearing red shoes and standing in front of the limo. I used the Cuttlebug Celebration stamps die cut and embossing folder and border folders. Papers are Falala from MM and Hot Tomato from Graphic 45. Clocks from Heidi Swapp.

Have any of you ever done this? I had an idea for a card but needed brown flowers. Since the nearest craft store is 25 miles away, that was not an option. So, looking around I remembered I had some brown Hydrangeas in the hall bathroom. I took my trusty scissors and WaLa! Added some fabric covered buttons, cut the leaves from scrapbook paper, added a chipboard swirl and some swirls cut with my Silhouette and I had my card. I love beige and brown. The're my comfort colors.

The weather has been so nice. A little windy but that's ok. It's been getting into the low 80's by the afternoon but it cools down to about 47 at night. Gotta enjoy it before it hits 110.

Here are my latest card creations. The first is a birthday card in cream, orange and brown. The 2nd and 3rd are card made from empty ribbon spools. I lifted the idea from someone's blog but can't remember who. Sorry. I used some Heidi Swapp chipboard, Prima flowers and a Cuttlebug die for the star.

A new birthday card for Spring. I love the yellow and green combination. The green is a die cut border paper from Deja Views. The brads were paper clip brads that I cut the clip off of. It will be available in my etsy shop soon.

Bird feeder

I bought this little bird feeder that attached to my window. I put it outside my craft room thinking I would attract some new birds but so far only little red headed House Wrens and Sparrows have visited it. The pidgeons sit on the fence and eye it but thankfully they are too big to land on it. Whew!!! That could be messy.

I might have to take it down once summer gets here. I wouldn't want the birdies to burn their little feet.

Tia Tonia's 95th birthday

Can you believe this is still standing? It was one of the stops on the Butterfield Stagecoach route. I believe it was made of adobe and it's in Maricopa, Arizona. This picture was taken in January.

Well since we are on the subject here are a couple of cards I made. The first one was made with scraps from my supply. The shamrocks were cut from patterned paper. I added some green ribbon and a little shamrock button. The second one is a simple card. The swirls on the paper sparkle and I added a tag with an Irish saying that I downloaded from HP.

Well St. Patrick's Day ( I think Irish Day is much more PC ) will be here soon. My sisters and I have a little tradition of sending each other little gifts, something with an Irish theme, for St. Pat's Day. Susan started it and Barb and I just jumped right in. I think the first gift Susan sent me was this little card of buttons. I had just started scrapbooking and she thought I could use them for something. They are so pretty that I just can't part with them so I have never done anything with them. Someday....

It's my oldest daughter's birthday next week and I made this owl card. for her. She will be 48. Wow! that make me????? Only as old as I feel, which some days is pretty ##&$ old.

I used a Hero Arts stamp set. Stamped the images on paper, scanned them and made them bigger and then printed them on cardstock and cut them out. Since the inside of the card was too dark to print on I printed out the sentiment on cardstock and glued it in.

I'm sitting here smellng my Banana bread baking in the oven. I bake it with a crunchy pecan topping. Smells pretty yummy.

Here's a little card I made for Spring. I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the cardstock and added some strips of Chloe's Closet paper and a little birdie from Michaels dollar stamps. Hope you like it.

We took a road trip to the Sears-Kay Ruins just past Carefree. The prehistoric people known as the Hohokam built a small village nearly a thousand years ago. Now only the rock foundations are left. On the way up to the area we stopped in Cave Creek at an arts and craft faire. On the way home we stuffed ourselves at Red Robin. Nice day!

The first picture is picture is a shot of the parking lot and the valley from the top of the hill. The second picture is of some of the ruins at the top of the hill.

Happy days are here again.
